Crown court for stabbing accused
A Wigan man will appear at the crown court in connection with a stabbing.
Stuart Parkinson, from Bamfurlong, has been charged with assault following an incident on Liverpool Road in Platt Bridge on Thursday August 4.
The 37-year-old, of Enid Place, appeared at Wigan and Leigh Magistrates’ Court on Friday and was bailed to appear at Liverpool Crown Court on Friday September 2.
Police attended the incident at around 11am on Thursday following reports that a man had been stabbed.
An off-duty police officer who was in the area at the time detained a man, who was then arrested when the on-duty officers from Greater Manchester Police (GMP) arrived.
