Driver arrested after car crash leaves three people injured

Police were called to Atherton Road in Hindley shortly before 5pm today, April 8, following the two-vehicle crash which occurred near the junction with Park Road.
Emergency services including police, fire service and North West Ambulance Service were called to the scene. Three people were injured in the collision, and police said both vehicles involved remained at the scene.
The conditions of those injured have not been disclosed.

Hide AdPolice arrested one person on suspicion of dangerous driving following the incident.
Motorists are being advised to avoid the area and traffic diversions are in place along Market Street, Lancaster Road and Borsdane Avenue.
A spokesperson for GMP said: "Police were called shortly before 5pm to a report of a collision involving two vehicles on Atherton Road in Hindley.
"Three people have been injured and both vehicles remained at the scene.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said: "We were called at 5.04pm to reports of a road traffic collision on Atherton Road, in Hindley.
"Fire engines from Hindley, Wigan and Leigh stations attended.
"The incident involved two vehicles. All persons were out of the vehicles when we arrived on scene.

Hide Ad"Our crews worked to make the roadway safe as the road had fuel on it as a result of the crash.
"The fire service was there for 35 minutes."
Atherton Road has now since reopened.
