Driver injured after bollard smash
A man has been seriously injured after he crashed into a bollard in Wigan.
The young adult was travelling along School Lane, Standish, in a blue Peugeot estate when he lost control and smashed into a bollard near St Marie’s Church, at the junction of Almond Brook Lane.
He was taken to Royal Preston Hospital with serious injuries.
The incident occurred shortly before 4am on Sunday.
The police closed the road off but it has now re-opened.
