A member of staff at Wigan’s Heinz factory has died after suffering a medical episode at work.

The North West air ambulance was scrambled and landed in the grounds of the Kitt Green plant after the man collapsed at shortly after 2pm yesterday (Wednesday September 2).
The worker was eventually taken to Wigan Infirmary by road ambulance.
But a spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said that, very sadly, medics were unable to save him and he died an hour later at the hospital.
Kraft Heinz has been approached for a comment.
