The show, called Faith - The George Michael Legacy, will be stage at The Edge on June 30 to a crowd of up to 1,000.

It’s been billed as a musical journey of 35 years of hit records from Wham to George’s solo career, with the show and production based upon the George Michael 25th anniversary tour.

The show uses actual video footage from the 25 Live Tour displayed on a unique video wall - a first for any UK theatre show.

The show also marks a first for Wigan venue The Edge, which encompasses conference facilities as well as the superb 1,000 capacity arena.

“To produce a show that pays tribute to such a true musical legend and possibly the finest solo star Britain has ever produced takes huge dedication and commitment,” said Wayne Dilks, who has been performing the songs of George Michael for over 16 years and is internationally recognised as the closest in vocal, stage presence and look - so much so that he was invited to perform twice on ITV’s Stars in their eyes both in 2002 and again in the 2004 live tour shows.

Wayne has appeared on countless radio stations for interviews in the UK and abroad and appeared on ITV’s Loose Women in 2011 as a birthday surprise for presenter Kate Thornton.

In the last couple of years his tribute show has reached new heights with shows in USA and Russia.

In December 2014 on the 30th anniversary of the Wham hit Last Christmas Wayne performed in Saas Fe, Switzerland which was the location for the iconic 1984 video.

The show is a celebration of 35 years of hit records and will take audiences on a journey from George’s early years with Wham to his successful solo career.

Performing those everlasting hits such as Club Tropicana, I’m Your Man, Faith and Wake Me Up Before You Go Go (among many more)

Wayne said: “If you are a fan please join us on a journey and celebrate the incredible legacy George left us all.”

Later in the year The Edge will also be playing host to two very different and authentic musical legends.

On October 6 The Three Degrees will be in town and on November 10 Irish folk and country duo Foster and Allen are its guests.
