The Wigan Post and Observer along with other local titles across the UK will hold an interactive #trustednewsday on Friday as part of our campaign to Fight Fake News.

And we want you to be part of it.

The day will give you the opportunity to quiz our editorial team including the editor about how we take decisions about stories both in our newspaper and on our website.

Online you will be able to watch a video tour of our office and meet the team responsible for bringing you ALL the trusted news in Wigan.

And we’ll also be picking a story and asking you to suggest a headline with the best one being published on our website wigantoday.net.

It’s not as easy as you think!

Fighting Fake News has seen hundreds of local papers highlight their highly trusted credentials through features, news stories, infographics and videos.

The campaign will continue to run up to and through Local Newspaper Week (May 15-12).

Our live Q&A will be open from 10-11am today (Friday) featuring the editor Janet Wilson, news editor Charles Graham, digital editor Jon Peake and senior sports reporter Paul Kendrick.
