Knifeman threatened members of the public


Shortly after 12am on Friday, February 12, police were called to Lord Street, Leigh, to reports that a man had threatened members of the public with a knife after being refused entry to a pub.
A 23-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of affray in connection with the incident and has been bailed until 13 April 2016 pending further enquiries.

Hide AdPolice have now released an image showing two women they wish to speak to who may have information that can assist the investigation.


Police Constable David Fairhurst of the Leigh Neighbourhood Police Team said: “We have made an arrest in connection with this incident but our investigation remains very much on-going.
“This is obviously quite a serious incident which left a number of people terrified after being threatened by the knife wielding offender.
“We are keen to speak to the two women in the picture as we think they may hold vital information.”
