Instead of parents buying presents for their children to give to staff, they were asked to donate tea, coffee and tins of soup for The Brick homeless charity.

The idea was the brainchild of teaching assistant Tracey Bilski, pictured above with pupils, and was well-received by children and their families.

Headteacher Joanne Woods said: “It was a really good idea suggested by Mrs Bilski, and the whole school and parents have been on board with it to gather as many goods as possible for the homeless.”
