Man charged with assault after nightclub attack

A man has been charged after an assault that left a 59-year-old man with serious head injuries in Wigan.

Andrew Pilkington, 36, of Bridgewater Street, Hindley, has been charged with section 20 assault.

He has been remanded into custody to appear at Wigan Magistrates’ court today (Thursday).

At around 3.45am on Sunday, February 28, a 59-year-old man was assaulted at the Queens Nightclub, Ashton in Makerfield.

He was aided by paramedics before being treated at hospital for facial injuries.
