Man dies on railway tracks at station near Lancashire

A man was pronounced dead on the tracks at a railway station near Lancashire.

Officers were called to reports of a casualty on the tracks at Lostock railway station, Bolton at around 4.40pm yesterday (April 21).

Paramedics also attended but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

His death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner, British Transport Police said.

Train services between Bolton, Wigan and Preston were disrupted for several hours while emergency services dealt with the incident.
