Man on off-road bike hit by a bus

A man has suffered serious injuries after being hit by a bus.

Police were called to Astley Street, Tyldesley, at the junction with the bus station to a report of a collision shortly before 3.25pm yesterday, Monday.

Officers attended and discovered that an off-road bike had been in a collision with a bus.

The rider of the bike, a 30-year-old man, was taken to hospital where he is being treated for numerous fractures and a partially collapsed lung.

The driver of the bus was uninjured.

An investigation into the collision has been launched and enquiries are ongoing.
