Masked man robs grocery store

A MASKED raider fled with cash and bottle of vodka after holding up a Skelmersdale grocer's.

He struck the Jones general store on the Bearncroft estate at 9.20pm last Friday, running towards the counter and demanding money and liquor from the terrified shop assistant. He was white, 5ft 10ins tall and spoke with a deep, gruff voice. He wore a black balaclava with large eyeholes, a thin, dark jacket with the hood up, dark pants, pumps with a white sole and black gloves. Det Sgt Janette Bashall said: “This was an extremely frightening incident for the shop assistant, causing her to fear for her safety. We need anyone who witnessed the robbery or who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously around the time of the incident to come forward.”
