Motorist in police chase 'collides with cars and wall'

A motorist has been arrested after a police pursuit in Leigh in the early hours of this morning.

Traffic officers say the driver struck a number of cars and a wall before coming to a stop in Twist Lane, at around 5am.

Firefighters from Leigh were called in after the vehicle ignited as a result of the collision.

The motorist was arrested by police on suspicion of dangerous driving and disqualified driving.
