I’ve really noticed how my body has changed this past few months- the top of my thighs and bottom area are a lot bigger!

Are there any exercises to help tone these areas?

The Colonel says: Sophie, this is a very common worry people have with their bodies - lots of people are in your position, working long hours sitting at a desk and not moving around at all!

It’s really easy to gain weight with this kind of lifestyle, but it’s important to stay motivated with your fitness, no matter how tired you are after work!

Just think: you don’t burn calories staring at a screen and sending emails!

There are a few small changes you can make whilst you’re at work first of all.

Make sure you bring in your own lunch - think healthy salads and not too many carbs, as these are the types of foods that “sit” in your stomach while you sit at a desk, rather than being burnt off.

Try to walk around as much as possible - without getting told off by the boss!

Just think, the reason you may be putting weight on in these areas is because you’re not working the muscles in your legs and bum at all whilst you’re sitting down, so you need to get these working when you leave the office!

Fitnesss-wise, toning classes such as “legs bums and tums” (LBT) are great for toning those common problem areas.

The class incorporates a mixture of abdominal workouts, lunges and stretches.

Immediately after a class, you’ll definitely feel the effects!

Remember: keep those muscles working and you’ll soon see a change!
