The Colonel says: Hi Dan, this is a frequently asked question and there isn’t a “fits all” answer as it all depends on the type of lifestyle you’d like to maintain.

For beginners who would just like to exercise in order to keep healthy I suggest around 20 minutes of exercise three times a week. This can be anything from a jog round your local park or a quick High-intensity interval (HIIT) training session down at Xercise4Less.

Doing some exercise is always better than none at all and I will always urge people to exercise weekly to ensure they’re fit and well.

Once you’ve got into a routine of exercising regularly you’ll notice a change in your body and how it reacts to the exercise you once found tough. This is your chance to up the ante and give it some oomph!

If you work out for longer periods of time you could try attending classes such as zumba, where you’ll get a chance to show off your moves or be a dare devil and try the Total Warrior class where you’ll experience all types of exercise you didn’t know of.

Always make sure you’re happy and healthy.
