A look back at 10 Wigan pubs that are no longer with us
It was revealed this week that the number of pubs in England and Wales has fallen below 40,000 for the first time and that there are 7,000 fewer than a decade ago. We’ve been through our archives and found pictures of 10 hostelries that have disappeared from the Wigan landscape over the years to be replaced with all manner of other buildings whether they be flats, a police station or a mini-market. For those with longer memories click here for another gallery of pubs which vanished much longer ago that we published four years ago.
We hope these bring back happy memories.
