Body found in search for missing Wigan man

Police searching for a Wigan man who went missing last week have sadly found a body.

Michael Greenall is missing from his home in Scholes

Michael Greenall, from Scholes, had not been seen since Friday night and police had urged anyone who knows where he is to get in touch.

The 27-year-old had left his home on Scholefield Lane at around 8pm on September 18. He was last seen on Rosebridge Fields off Platt Lane around half an hour later, wearing dark jeans, a Hugo Boss navy long-sleeve top, a jacket with a camouflage pattern and Valentino trainers..

Sadly, this morning (Friday, September 25), Greater Manchester Police said they have found a body during their searches for Michael. Formal identification is yet to take place, but social media posts from friends have confirmed the tragic news.

Police say there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death, and that a Coroner's file is being prepared.
