Community groups and sports clubs get festive gifts
The gifts were bought through Brighter Borough funding or collected through generous donations from local businesses.
The councillors say they would normally spend Brighter Borough money in December helping groups and clubs put on Christmas parties or events.

Coun Chris Ready, who put the scheme together, said: “Usually we would be helping fund Christmas parties and activities but this year nothing has been able to be done.
“It’s been a really difficult year for all of us with all the restrictions and we wanted to show the groups that we are still here and want to give something back.”
Nurseries, football and rugby clubs and morris dancers are among the organisations and groups who have received gifts.

Coun Ready is still keen to hear from any local groups who have not been approached or have not asked for help, or who might find themselves struggling to keep going in the New Year.
