Hide AdCoun Steve Jones and his partner Courtney Bampton, with the help of the community, have set up the new charitable non-profit group.
They have done so to help struggling people in Bryn, which they said is a deprived area like many, and to provide support to those who will struggle from the “recession that is likely to follow the coronavirus crisis.”
The initiative has been made possible after the group has secured the former Bryn Veterinary Centre in Downall Green Road.
Coun Jones hailed a “successful” first week.
He said: “We’ve had a really good first few days with lots of people coming in.

“This is a really vital support network to families and individuals who are struggling in these hard times.”
And Coun Jones, who was on hand with fellow Bryn Independent councillor Sylvia Wilkinson to answer councillor queries, said that all money raised would go towards providing free food hampers and other community initiatives.
He said: “We now have bread, milk, fruit and veg, turkey, ham and much more at next to nothing.
