Emergency services called amid concerns for man in Wigan

Emergency services turned out in force after concerns were raised for the welfare of a man in Wigan.

Police officers, firefighters and paramedics all went to Lockgate Place, in Poolstock, near the canal and Westwood Flash, at 2pm on Sunday.

Among them were two fire engines from Wigan fire station and the technical response unit from Leigh fire station.

A police spokesman said searches had been carried out and inquiries were ongoing.
