Man dies after car plunges into canal
Police have recovered a body from a canal after reports that a car was seen in the water.

Police were called to a stretch of canal near Appley Lane, Appley Bridge shortly before 11pm yesterday (Saturday, April 20), to reports a car had been seen in the water.
Emergency services attended and located the vehicle. Sadly the body of a man, believed to be in his 70s, was found in the water close by.
His death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be passed to the Coroner
