Our lost Christmas song has finally found its way back! Wigan and Bolton musicians celebrate
Thirteen years ago, we wrote a Christmas song called “Christmas Dream” for a major Sony Music project
ExCo
More than a thousand writers submitted tracks, all hoping theirs would be chosen for global superstar Leona Lewis. When we learned that Christmas Dream had placed second, we were thrilled — but also crushed. So close… yet not selected. And just like that, the song was shelved.
For years, it remained a “what if?” — a song we believed in but one that never had its moment.

This year, everything changed.
As Frostbeat, a collective made up of Rob Grice from Lowton (composer/producer, arranger & video creator), Stu Connor from Atherton (keyboardist & writer), Glen Philips from Blackrod (multi-instrumentalist & producer, arranger), and Nina Lenaghan from Bolton (vocalist), we revisited the old demo together. The magic was still there. We all felt it instantly: this song deserved its chance.
We rebuilt Christmas Dream from the ground up:
· Stu crafted the keyboard arrangements and co-wrote the musical foundation
· Glen shaped the rich, cinematic production
· Rob redeveloped the arrangement and produced the music video
· Nina delivered a stunning, heartfelt vocal performance that brought the song to life
We also created a heart-warming Christmas-style video, capturing the festive warmth, nostalgia, and sparkle that inspired the track — directed and produced by Rob.
Releasing Christmas Dream after 13 years feels like closing a long, unexpected circle — turning an old disappointment into something joyful, hopeful, and new. Some songs simply wait for the right time, the right team, and the right Christmas.
This year, we’re proud to finally share it with the world — not as the song that nearly was, but as the song that found its way to you!
Enjoy!
