Merseyside Police announced its search for 78-year-old Elfed Wynne Jones is over.

An appeal was put out on Friday night after the whereabouts of Mr Jones, from Newton-le-Willows, became uncertain.
He had been seen on Warrington Road that afternoon heading towards Ashton town centre.

Hide AdOn Saturday morning Merseyside Police said he had been found safe and well.
The force thanked everyone who had shared the appeal.
