Singer Liam Gallagher sparks memories from Wigan's past

Singer Liam Gallagher has triggered memories from Wigan's past on Twitter.

The Oasis legend replied to a picture, taken 23-years-ago, that a fan tweeted of the band on the Blind Steps, in Scholes, Wigan.

The tweet reads: "How can you be so happy in Wigan?", of which he repled "Wigan's biblical."

Fans went on to suggest that the star should have a pint in The Crispin in Wigan when the coronavirus outbreak starts to slow.

Known locally as the ‘Blind Steps’, the steep stairwell links Darlington Street East with Hardybutts, a terraced row of houses just outside the town centre.

The steps featured on the front of the 1997 single "D’You Know What I Mean?" on the album "Be Here Now."
