Sons pay tribute after death of 'beautiful mum' at Pennington Flash

Police issued an appeal on Tuesday for help to find Jane Burton, who had been reported missing and was last seen on Walker Drive in Leigh at around 2am that day.
Sadly, her body was found at Pennington Flash later in the day.

Police said they did not believe there were any suspicious circumstances surrounding her death and a file would be passed to the coroner.
Since then, Jane’s three sons have posted moving tributes to their mum on social media.
Alongside a selection of family photographs, Josh Burton wrote: “Today we found out the worst possible news following the passing of the most beautiful, caring and loving person you could meet, who I will be forever proud to call my mum.
"Whilst I am struggling to process the death of my amazing mum, I want to share some amazing memories we had together and how she always put family first and ensured her three boys were always looked after.

Hide Ad"I will never ever forget you mum, you have taught me many things in life and I promise to stay strong for the family and make you proud.
“You will always be in my heart, love you always.”
Matt Burton wrote: “I still can’t believe this is happening. It’s anyone’s worst nightmare.
“I just want to thank everyone who helped search for my beautiful mum at Pennington Flash today, it made me so proud of our community.
“The outcome feels like my hearts been ripped out. You were my best friend, my confident, drinking buddy and just the best mum I could have asked for.

“Josh, Mitch and I love you so much, we will do whatever we can to make you proud always.”
Mitch Burton wrote: “Never in a million years did I think I would have to say this so early on.
“Mum, you were my everything. You were always there for me when I needed you the most, and you were the best mum that Josh, Matt and I could have ever asked for. It’s so hard to believe that you’re gone, but we know for a fact that you’ll always be watching over us and I promise that we’re all going to make you proud.
“I love you so so much. Fly high, Mum.”

Hide AdJane’s body was found during a search on Tuesday, with a large emergency services presence reported at Pennington Flash and nearby woodland after her car was located nearby.
Multiple police helicopters and emergency service vehicles were deployed and sadly it was later confirmed that her body had been discovered.
A police spokesman said: “We can confirm that officers searching for missing Jane sadly found her body.
“There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances and specialist officers are supporting her family at this difficult time.
“Our thoughts remain with Jane's family and a file has now been passed to the coroner's office.”
