Scott, from Ashton, uses cans of snow to cover the windows and then uses tools to meticulously produce the finished work by hand.

Scott is now in his third year of running Snow Graffiti and has been able to turn it into his full-time business, producing portraits and scenes using spray guns holding paint in addition to his fake snow works.

And he says demand is still increasing, though he has noticed a change in the type of pictures some people are asking for in the run-up to a Covid Christmas which will clearly be very different to the usual festive celebrations.

Scott said: “I’m busier than ever. It’s even bigger than last year. It takes me quite a while to do all the details on each one but I don’t want to fall into the trap of using stencils.

“I’m getting more confident now in my techniques and am able to put more into it. Last week one person wanted a design which involved their grandchild, so I just went for it and did it like a portrait.

“I’ve been working on the windows every day. People aren’t asking for Christmas designs as much this year. The shops especially weren’t sure if they were going to be open.

“I’ve had people asking more for general winter scenes so they can keep them up for longer.

“A lot of people are asking me for more personal designs this year as well. I think they just want something a bit different.

“When the Government was making the speech to announce the tiers my phone was just going non-stop. People seemed to be prioritising their windows for some reason.”

Scott has created an elaborate design for the window of his own home, involving scenes from the classic Christmas movie It’s A Wonderful Life.

The piece depicts the characters hugging and also a version of the film’s car crash with the registration plate showing 2020.

Scott explained: “We’ve had a car crash of a year but we should remember what is important in life.”

Another perennial favourite design is the Coca Cola trucks which typically appear on screens advertising the soft drink at this time of year.

Scott has previously created winter wonderlands including stags stepping through snowy landscapes and reindeer pulling Santa and his sleigh through the sky.

He has also introduced his unusual snow art to an even wider audience by creating a short video of him at work which then went viral on social media.

Scott’s talents are also on full view at a number of businesses across the borough, including the Valhalla Gym in Ashton which now boasts spectacular spray-painted tributes to iconic people including strong man Geoff Capes and movie actor Arnold Schwarzenegger and The Old Band House restaurant which has a beautiful mural of musicians on a wall.
