A rugby player from Wigan is understood to have died after being rescued from the sea in Yorkshire. The man was swimming with a teenage boy and a girl off Reighton Gap, four miles south of Filey at around 2pm on Thursday when they were swept out to sea after getting caught in a rip tide. Tributes have been paid to a "big hearted" mum who was found dead at a house in Wigan. The body of 34-year-old Shelley Bridge was discovered when emergency services were called to Falkirk Grove, in Norley, at 9am on Wednesday. Written by Gaynor Clarke.
