Wigan children's writer publishes his second book

Ray Douglas’s new book, Lucy the Tooth Fairy’s Last Chance, has been available to buy since the start of November and is already going down well with young readers.

This follows on from Ray’s first novel, The Silly Sausage Saga, which was published around two years ago – and he plans to publish further stories in the future.

His latest publication is an illustrated children’s book containing oodles of rhymes and poems about all kinds of things. The book is great for all ages with more than enough to get children thinking, smiling, laughing and ultimately interested in and entertained by rhymes and poems.

Ray, 44, from Bryn, said: “The books consist of little funny rhymes written for children and there’s a long story inside.

“They’re suitable for children over the age of five and are designed to be light-hearted but also educational.

“The latest book is doing well so far, and we’ve had quite a lot of interest.”

To promote his works, Ray has his own YouTube channel entitled ‘Ray Douglas’, where he reads and acts out the books.

He also does workshops in schools ,but this hasn’t been possible this year due to the pandemic – but going forward he said he will do them again.

Ray, who works as a teacher instructing foreign language students online, said: “I’ve always had a passion for writing and have always wanted to publish books, and I’m looking to publish more going forward.

He added: “I teach English online to foreign language students in China and Brazil to name a few places, as well as having my own YouTube Channel where I read and act out my works, and I do workshops in schools although I’ve not been able to recently because of the pandemic, but plan to in the future.”
