Tasha Davies and Martin Hern admit they have faced a “steep learning curve” since the birth of Alexander - known as Ally - on September 1.
But they are delighted to have become parents and are enjoying life as a family of three at their home in Standish.

Hide AdTasha, 28, said: “We are really happy. We consider ourselves really lucky that he’s so healthy and he’s such a lovely baby.”
The couple rushed to Wigan Infirmary’s A&E unit when Tasha was suffering with stomach pains and it was a huge shock when staff revealed she was in labour.
Even with hindsight, there were no signs of pregnancy, such as the baby moving or morning sickness, and she had attributed weight gain to more snacking during the first coronanvirus lockdown.
Alexander Isaac Gohan Hern was born, weighing 9lb 70z, just an hour after the couple arrived at the hospital.

Hide AdMartin, 29, had to rush around getting everything they would need for Ally before he was discharged and went to the house the couple had bought just days before.
They had not planned to start a family for several years so were certainly thrown in at the deep end when their son arrived.
Tasha said: “It was a steep learning curve but I think we are getting there and just enjoying the challenge at the moment.
“It was a big shock and took a lot of adjusting to. I said to a few of my friends and family sometimes I would sit asking when someone would come to collect their baby, because he didn’t feel like ours. We are more used to it now.
“He makes it easy for us because he’s such a good baby.”

Hide AdTasha and Martin are now proud parents and enjoying seeing their little bundle of joy develop.
Martin said: “He’s boisterous, he’s very chatty, he loves his bottle. He’s come out of his shell a bit more. He has some hand puppets which he seems to like.
“He’s a really good sleeper surprisingly. We are getting a full night’s sleep now. We have his cot ready for him because he’s nearly outgrown his basket now.”
The couple’s lives have changed completely, with their focus now on Ally.

Hide AdTasha was working as a paralegal and hoped to study for a law degree, but that has now been put on hold, and they are still getting everything they need for their new home.
But they do not mind if things take a little longer than originally planned as they are caring for their beautiful son.
And while Ally has brought so much joy to their lives, Tasha and Martin have no plans to extend their family further.
Tasha said: “We have both decided he is our one and only. I’m an only child so I would be happy with that.”
