Following the death of TV star Caroline Flack, a customer of popular florist Wild Flowers in Standish donated some money to owner Kerry Docherty and told her to use it to spread some love.

Kerry, who owns the business in High Street, decided to match the donation and make up some simple posies to leave in and around the village to spread a little cheer.

Kerry, pictured above, said: “This weekend we have been told by tragic circumstances to “be kind”. Yesterday, I was approached by one of my customers who wanted action, not words.

“They have donated an amount to be gifted/paid forward to lift someone else’s day.

“I have matched her donation pound for pound and made pretty posies and dropped at random locations around the village, with the message to be kind to each other, our community and the world around us.”

She has placed them around the community and is promising more over the next few days.

She added: “Please keep them or gift to someone who you know needs lifting. #bekind”

Customers reacted with delight to her idea.

Lisa Banks said: This is the most perfect idea, you are amazing to be leaving these beautiful posies around the village. I hope someone who’s in a sad place gets to receive them.”

Sharon Swift added: “What a beautiful, thoughtful and wonderful thing to do! Brought tears to my eyes love this.”
