Mother-of-three Nichola Diment set herself the challenge to run 150km around Standish in 28 days - with an illuminated double buggy.

The pram has special buggy and Christmas lights strapped onto it and Nichola runs with her two youngest children, Axton, two, and five-month-old Wren, while her other daughter Minnie, eight, cycles alongside her.

She has raised in excess of £500 for charity Dementia UK, as her grandma Ann Carlyon has dementia and her husband Tom, lost his grandmother to the condition.

Nichola, 37, said: “The run has been brilliant and I’m overwhelmed by the response I’ve had.”

Fitness fanatic Nichola, currently on maternity leave, has worked for the Royal Air Force in the past, where she has visited Afghanistan twice.

She is also planning to run in Standish running club’s ‘Running Home For Christmas’ challenge 2020, in which people are being asked to do a series of runs in December to get outside and get fit - and also raise charity cash.

Nichola said: “I’ve always enjoyed running alongside other forms of fitness having an ex-military background, and it has been a good thing to do with the gyms closed.

“I’ll run on the school runs and my two youngest are in the pram, which probably weighs a good 34kg, and then my eight-year-old, who goes to St Wilfrid’s, will cycle with me back and forth from school.”
