Wigan primary school pays tribute to 'well-loved' former headteacher

Glen Robinson was head at St Mark's CE Primary School in Newtown until 2015. The school was told of Mr Robinson's death earlier today.
In a short statement on social media, the school's CEO, Mrs Coulthard, wrote: "Earlier today we received the sad news that Mr Glen Robinson, the well-loved Headteacher of St Mark’s for many years until 2015, has sadly passed away.

Hide Ad"Although I didn’t know Mr Robinson well, every single member of staff, child and parent who has ever spoken to me about him, has done so with respect, love and admiration. He will be forever remembered as a Headteacher who cared deeply about the staff, children and community he served, played the guitar, loved the outdoors, sang songs and made jokes.
"I know that many of you will remember Mr Robinson, and indeed some of you may have been taught by him yourself, and I am sure you will join me in keeping Mr Robinson, his family and friends in our thoughts and prayers."
One comment on the post said: "He was a wonderful teacher and headmaster during my years there. He battled repeatedly for years but still had a smile to offer. Thinking of his family at this difficult time, he was a legend."
Another said: "Aww such sad news he taught my husband and my kids, he was a lovely man RIP mr Robinson sending love to your family".
