Danielle is keeping herself and other people active during lockdown with the dance, fitness and wellbeing sessions.

The former Winstanley College student, who spent 16 years honing her skills at Tina’s Dance Studios in Springfield, has spent much of the last six years performing and choreographing shows at top hotels and resorts in Greece and Cyprus.

She admits finding the sudden transition from that to staying at home under lockdown in Wigan a challenge.

However, she decided to keep herself busy by giving other people the chance to join in with some steps and exercise to boost their wellbeing and fitness.

Danielle, 28, said: “I was doing dance, fitness and stretching myself so I thought why not offer them to everybody else?

“It’s going really well. I’ve had quite a lot of people joining in and they’ve said it has been helpful for them.

“It’s mainly for adults but I’ve had children join in too. My sisters, my mum and my grandma and her friends have all been joining in.

“I’ve got so much energy normally with being a professional dancer and I’m active all the time. My last job in a panto in Liverpool finished at the end of December so I’m just at home at the moment.

“Going from being really busy to doing nothing has been difficult for me.

“The classes are feelgood and fun. It’s just me having a god time and enjoying myself which other people can join in with.

“I’m super-active but I’m also used to a warmer climate. I don’t really want to go running in Wigan so this is a good way to get your steps up without being freezing.”

Danielle has been running the sessions, which last for between 30 and 45 minutes, from her parents’ conservatory on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and at the weekend.

She has also done online classes with dancers at Miss Tina’s studios to encourage the next generation of young talent.

Danielle started dancing aged two and says showcasing her skills on the boards was all she ever wanted to do.
