Hide AdAnnouncing that all groups would be leaving with a cash gift, Rotary president Monica Meehan said: “It was a tremendous evening and Wigan Rotary Club is delighted to be able to help the wonderful work undertaken.
"In these challenging economic times it is surprising the difference a few hundred pounds can make. It was also humbling to see how many people are prepared to give up their time to help others.”
The Rotary club continues to raise funds in order to provide support for local community and voluntary groups. They meet at The Owls at Standish and have done since 1989.
A number of dates have also been confirmed for the Christmas float which will also raise funds.

"We hope this event shows how we are using their donations wisely and for the benefit of the local community.”
