Phoebe Brown, from Pemberton, said goodbye to a whopping 13 inches of her hair before donating it to the Little Princess Trust, a charity which creates wigs from real hair for poorly children suffering from cancer and other illnesses which had caused hair loss.

The seven-year-old had her trim at Village Hair Design in High Street, Standish, and her haircut was kindly carried out for free by hairdresser Amanda.

Phoebe’s efforts raised £1,000 for the Trust, thanks to donations from family, friends, and a generous donation from local takeaway owners at Taz Mahal.

Pemberton based fashion outlet Crystal Leisurewear also provided Phoebe’s specially branded t-shirt.
