More than 400 presents were handed over as part of the Give A Gift campaign.

The annual appeal invites customers to donate gifts to children who might otherwise not receive anything on Christmas morning.

They are then distributed by local charity the Storehouse Project to families in need.

This year the campaign was a huge success with over double the amount of gifts being donated than in previous years.

These included a wide range of items for boys and girls and high-value gifts such as a Sega Mega Drive.

Simon Tucker, centre manager at The Galleries, said: “It’s been truly humbling to see how generous everyone has been this year, particularly as it has been such a difficult time.
