In past years it has become tradition for people across to come together to donate food, presents and household products to give to those who need it most.

But with coronavirus restrictions in place organisers are making changes to ensure festivities can still go ahead by bringing Father Christmas and their Christmas hampers straight to their doors.

Head of fund-raising Lynsey Kendall said: “Christmas at Wigan Youth Zone is always a magical time of year. Usually we would be preparing to welcome hundreds of young people to enjoy festive fun, a warm dinner, a visit from Santa and presents galore.

“Unfortunately this year we will not be able to celebrate in our usual way, however that won’t stop us making sure young people and their families who need it the most have the best Christmas possible.
