Today’s Community Church in Wigan joined forces with national charity The Message Trust to set up a food store for people struggling financially due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The community grocery, which is located at The Edge in the Wigan Pier Quarter, offers a wide range of products, including fresh and frozen foods, baked goods, sanitary and household items.

But the products have been donated by supermarkets and suppliers, so members only have to pay £3 for a big shop, saving up to £40 each time.

Membership costs £5 per year and is restricted to local residents who are struggling to make ends meet due to the pandemic.
