Woman arrested at scene of road collision

Police arrested a woman at the scene of the collision

Two cars collided on Leigh Road in Leigh at around 10pm on Wednesday.

A white Vauxhall Mokka and a black Mazda CX3 were involved in the incident, which shut the road.

The drivers of both vehicles were uninjured and had managed to get out of their cars by the time the fire service arrived.

However, the woman who had been at the wheel of one of the vehicles was arrested by Greater Manchester Police (GMP).

Fire crews were at the scene for around an hour and the road was completely closed during that time as the cars could not be moved and had to be recovered.
