Police cordon off footpath after incident

Police have cordoned off a footpath following an incident.

Details are still emerging on what happened after a cordon was put in place this morning, Thursday, May 21, on a footpath leading to the canal off Hall House Lane, Leigh, behind Bedford High School.

But there have been unconfirmed reports on social media from locals suggesting a body has been found in the canal not far from Leigh Spinners Mill.

Pictures show police at the scene and the area taped off.
