'Police incident' closes major Wigan road

A road has been closed in Wigan following a police incident.

Marsh Green Road was shut shortly after 6pm on Wednesday and local reports suggested a number of police vehicles were in attendance.

Stagecoach tweeted that two of its bus services were being diverted via Montrose Avenue.

The exact nature of the police incident is unclear.
