Police investigate borough house fire
Police officers are investigating the cause of a fire which broke out at a house in Leigh.
Crews from Atherton and Leigh were called to Harrow Crescent in Leigh, around 1am this morning. On arrival, they found the ground floor of a mid-terraced property "well alight".
Firefighters got to work and spent around two hours tackling the flames. An occupant of the address was taken to hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation, a firefighter said.
An investigation has been launched to establish the cause of the fire. Police and the fire service are collaborating on the investigation.
