Police trace potential witness to hit and run that injured 66-year-old woman

Police have managed to trace the potential witness to a hit and run in Upholland that saw a 66-year-old woman suffer serious injuries

The pensioner remained in hospital for several days after she was hit by a vehicle in the car park of Hall Green near to the junction roundabout .

She was hit by a car that is possibly green in colour, with the driver of the vehicle leaving the scene before providing their details, police said.

It is believed a male witness stopped at the scene and made a remark that he had seen the vehicle registration.

That witness has now been identified following an appeal for information into the incident which happened at around 1.30pm on Saturday, February 8.

Police said they had also been given details about the car involved.

A police spokesman said: "Following our appeal, we have managed to trace the potential witness we wanted to speak to and have also received information about the vehicle involved.

"Thank you to everyone who helped and shared our appeal."
