Council in Easter bank holiday warning to Wigan pubs and clubs
Pubs and clubs in Wigan have been warned not to open their doors over the bank holiday.
Wigan Council said they should they not open "under any circumstances" as the country observes government coronavirus lockdown measures.
Council officers will be carrying out checks with police over the weekend.
The council tweeted: "Wigan Council is reminding all pubs/club operators to not open their doors this bank holiday under any circumstances. Only businesses supplying essential items should be open. Officers will be carrying out checks with @gmpolice over the weekend #Stayhomesavelives
It comes after people had contacted the council to say some pubs had been defying the lockdown last month, but an inspection found all the premises to be closed.
