Probe launched to establish cause of fire at house in Wigan borough

The blaze started in the upstairs of a property on Knowsley Street in Leigh at around 12.30pm on Thursday.

Firefighters from Atherton, Hindley and Wigan all attended to put out the blaze and the people inside were able to get out of the house before crews arrived.

The fire caused only minor damage to the house, but an investigation is being carried out to establish what caused it.
