Road crash death - man charged with SEVEN offences

A MAN has been charged with SEVEN offences following the death of a woman in a tragic road crash.

At 10pm on Sunday, a woman crossed over Bow Street at the junction of Crown Street in Bolton when she fell over.

A short time later, a bus and two vehicles are seen on CCTV slowing down and driving around her. There was a short break in traffic before another car, a Ford Focus, collided with her.

The car pulled up on Back Bridge Street and the driver, Tinashe Irvine Chikoto, abandoned the vehicle before contacting police later that night.

Chikoto, 22, of Devonshire Road, Atherton has been charged with:

1 Causing death by dangerous driving

2 Failing to stop at the scene of a collision

3 Failing to report a collision

4 Causing death whilst unlicensed

5 Driving a motor vehicle without insurance

6 Driving whilst unfit through drugs

7 Perverting the course of justice

He has been remanded into custody to appear before Bolton Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
