The North West Juniors rugby league asked teams to hold a minute’s silence in memory of the youngster at the weekend.

A statement posted on its website said: “It is with great sadness we announce the sad passing earlier tonight of Harrison after a brave fight against cancer.

“Harrison was a member of the Blackbrook Royals club who have been tremendous in their support of Harrison and his family. They have been a credit to the family game of rugby league in the compassionate way they have conducted themselves.
