Search for family of former Wigan man found dead in Hull

Police are appealing for information to help find the next of kin of a former Wigan man who died suddenly.

Ian Sumner, 54, was found dead at his home in Hull on Saturday January 23.

Despite extensive work, Humberside Police say they have been unable to locate family.

They are appealing for anyone who may be able to help locate Stretford-born Mr Sumner's next of kin to get in touch.

In a statement, Humberside Police said: "We are appealing to help locate the next of kin for 54-year-old Ian Sumner.

"His death is not being treated as suspicious and despite extensive work we have not been able to locate Ian’s next of kin.

"If you can help us please call our non-emergency number 101 quoting log 133 of 23 January 2021."
