Appeal for dash cam footage after Wigan crash left motorcylist with serious injuries

Police are appealing for dash cam footage after a collision in Wigan left a motorcyclist with serious injuries.

Shortly after 6am on Thursday, police were called to reports that a motorcycle had collided with some roadworks on Wigan Lane.

A red Honda 997cc motorbike had been traveling through roadworks on Wigan Lane heading towards the town centre, when the man riding it fell from his bike.

The 31-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment of his serious injuries where he remains.

Officers are appealing for dash cam footage to aid with their enquiries.

Police Constable Paul Hailwood of GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “Thankfully only one person was injured in this incident and I wish him a speedy recovery.

“We are piecing together how this collision happened and are asking for anyone with dash cam footage to send this to police.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 0161 856 4741 quoting incident number 1962 of 05/04/18.”
