Traffic misery after car smash
MOTORISTS were stuck in queues following a two-car pile-up near the motorway.
Two cars collided on the roundabout known as Haydock Island, off East Lancashire Road, near the M6, at 11.15am on Tuesday.
No-one was injured, but lanes were closed as highways engineers cleared the vehicles away.
Lanes were fully open shortly after 1pm.
